The Perfect Sunday Afternoon

Okay, so I'm sure Rob and I are too liberal (which is why we'll never be bishop or RS President--fine by us), but to me, this is the perfect Sunday afternoon--having fun together as a family and enjoying all that Heavenly Father has created for us. Isn't that what life's all about?

Myles is a pro on his new bike.

Wahoo!!!!!

My kids are soooo cute.....not that I'm biased or anything...

School is finally here! I've never been so glad to have summer over in my life! It has been a very rough summer. Between my surgery and Rob's knee scope and having a baby to take care of while also having three other very loud and bored children, it has been an adventure to say the least. But we made it. And it's nice to have it behind us. Next summer we have a lot of making up to do.

The kids are just as happy as I am to be in school. They love it. Mekinley is now in 3rd grade, and Sierra is in 1st. Ah! They are getting so old. Myles even gets to start preschool in a few weeks. With our last baby here, we really are entering into a new phase in our lives. It's kind of bittersweet as I think most things are. On one hand it makes me so sad to not be looking forward to and planning for another baby and the thought of never holding my infant in my arms again is enough to make me cry, but on the other hand.....freedom!!

P.S. When we were having lunch it was so peaceful and quiet with just Myles, me, and Parx. I was actually just soaking in the moment. Then Myles turned to me and said, "So...what should we talk about?"

Myles is 4!!!

I can't believe Myles has had yet another birthday. It makes me so sad!! All morning I was teasing him telling him that we were skipping his birthday and not letting him turn 4. I really wish I could do that. He's growing up too fast. He is the sweetest boy ever while at the same time the most fun. His favorite things are riding his bike (he just got a new bike for his birthday and is a BMX pro), going to the skate park with Dad, snuggling with Mom and Dad when the girls are in bed, eating junk food, reading stories (he can memorize a book after reading it just once), anything to do with water (especially spraying everyone with a hose), and hanging out with Grandpa (he gets spoiled rotten!!).

What I love best about Myles is that he never forgets to tell me he loves me. I can be working at the computer, making lunch, or folding laundry and at the most random times he'll come up to me and give me a big hug and kiss and tell me that he loves me. Oh, yah. He knows how to work it.

Myles we love you and are so proud of you!!

Stage Dynamics Stars!!

Mekinley and Sierra performed at the Davis County Fair this Saturday. They were so good!! I know I'm the proud parent, but they really were amazing. And they get better and better every time they perform. It's really fun to watch. Sierra is a crack up because she's more into being on stage than actually getting everything right. It's actually kind of frustrating because at home she knows everything but on stage she gets too distracted and is all over the place. Mekinley has the most beautiful voice. I don't know where she gets it from--certainly not me. Unfortunately she does get her dancing her from me. One thing is for sure....they both LOVE it.

The Love of My Life...Parx

Some cute pictures...

He loves Baby Einstein...and I don't know what we'd do without it! At the very beginning of every movie there's a caterpillar that crosses the screen with a little melody. As soon as Parx sees or hears it, he's entranced. And the rest of us can hum Beethoven or Mozart in our sleep.

Parx is all smiles. He also has the cutest laugh.

Cowboy man!

This is when Parx just barely learned how to lift himself up. Now he's rolling all over the place and almost has his army crawl down.

Rob and Rob Jr.

Dinosaur Park

Dinosaur Park is always a hit with the kids. It was especially fun this year with Myles. Not only did he think the robotic display was real, but he also ran around the entire park pretending he was a dinosaur. Boys are so much fun!

24th of July

It just wouldn't be the 24th of July without Panguitch. Small towns really know how to do it. It's funny because over the years I've always kind of made fun of the small town holiday....the parade that goes up Main Street and then back down to help it last longer....the floats full of Panguitch alumni dating back to 1900....the fire engine spraying everyone....the canons going off at the crack of dawn....everyone knowing everyone. But this year I finally fully appreciated it. There's a sense of community and pride that doesn't exist elsewhere, and I'm so glad my kids get to experience it. Having spent so much time there this summer, they were locals. And it was fun to see. They were so happy just collecting sticks behind Grandma and Grandpa's house, playing with the dogs, riding the ATV and motorcycle, wading in the creek, and hanging out "downtown" at the Cafe (It still makes me crack up that everyone refers to the Cafe as downtown). It was fun seeing them have the whole wide world to play in without the restrictions of fences, strangers, and traffic. Not to mention in Panguitch they have the best grandparents a kid could ask for. It really is a child's paradise. I think it also made me love and appreciate my small-town husband a little more because he was having just as much fun as the kids building jumps, checking out the fishing, and hanging out with his brothers. So after all this time, I'm finally sending my love to Panguitch. Thanks Panguitch! And thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
