No More Training Wheels!

Well it's official. Myles is riding his bike without training wheels. He actually was kind of a baby about it. But then again I guess he is just 3. Rob was pretty determined, though. Finally Rob had to load him up with pads to get him to do it, but now he's a pro. We had one bad crash, actually on my watch! He was showing off for me, but there was a car that hadn't pulled all the way into the driveway and was sticking out onto the sidewalk. Myles was going too fast and couldn't stop in time. At least he was smart and bailed early instead of running into. He did end up with a big goose egg on his forehead. I felt so bad! But after a good cry he got right back on his bike and kept going. I was proud. He's getting so big!! It's a good thing I have Parx because he's not my baby anymore.

All About Parx

Parx at 3 months.

Parx is my miracle baby. We're pretty lucky we got him here safe and sound. My delivery with him was actually pretty easy--my easiest of all by far. But I had earned it. My pregnancy had been absolutely horrible, and my trip to the hospital four weeks earlier had been anything but easy. But at least we made it to the end. I went to the hospital at 7:00 am and had the epidural by 8:30 am. Man, I love the epidural! I hadn't felt so good in 9 months! I actually wanted everything to slow down so I could get some more sleep. And then with one push out he came at 12:02 pm. It all happened so fast. He was a little slow to cry so I didn't get to hold him right away while the nurses did their thing. It was actually pretty scary and those few moments seemed like hours. But then suddenly he let out a huge cry, and I've never felt so relieved. Once they were sure he was healthy, I got to hold him and there is nothing like holding your brand new baby. In an instant, it's all worth it. Everything. And in an instant you feel more love than you even thought was possible. It's amazing.

Parx has actually been a pretty good baby. The first two months were pretty rough. They just barely passed but even now they're a blur and I can't remember much. I was feeding around the clock and in between time he was pretty fussy. Rob seemed so surprised by this which actually amused me. Where was he for the other three children? Sleeping. That's where! But once Parx reached 2 months, almost to the day, he has been a very good baby. He sleeps decent for a 3 month old and is very happy. He has the cutest, brightest smile and smiles all the time. He also coos and is just starting to laugh. It's adorable! His eyes are a blue gray, and I'm very curious to see what color they're going to end up being.

Parx also loves his bath. Just when you start to undress him he knows what's coming and turns into the happiest baby. And the second he hits the water his arms and legs start flailing and he is nothing but smiles and giggles. It's so cute! Parx is also a very big boy. I'm not used to it! He's already outgrowing his 3-6 month clothing and is bursting out of a size 2 diaper. He really needs a size 3 diaper, but I stocked up on size 2 so he has to finish them! At his two month check-up he was in the 70% percentile. 70%! None of my other kids were even on the chart! His extra weight makes his cheeks extra kissable.

My favorite thing of all is he loves his mommy. He is such a snuggle bug and all he has to do is hear my voice and he gets excited. I love it! That's the payoff of being a mom. Plus I have to really soak it in because once they turn 1, they start to betray me for their dad. I'm determined that won't happen with Parx. Myles has already turned on me, but Parx will be a momma's boy...forever. He truly is my sunshine.
