Sierra turned 4 this week. Can you believe it? 4!!! She is so big! We ventured out and went to ChuckeCheese, and boy, what a venture it was. The girls, of course, loved it. They played and played and have asked me every day since when we get to go back. It actually wasn't so bad. I guess I was expecting the worst. Sierra was completely spoiled and got so many presents you would have thought it was Christmas...and we just had Christmas! And out of all the presents, her favorite was a giant bag of M&M's my mom got her. That's my Sierra.
A few days before her birthday, Sierra was having a hard time going to sleep. I didn't enforce our usual strict bedtime with her because she had had a long nap that day and so I was expecting her resistance. It was actually kind of nice, though. We snuggled in our bed (Sierra is my biggest snuggler) and just talked and talked. She told me about everyone in her Sunbeam class, she told me about Mekinley, she sang me songs, she scratched my back, and she fell asleep mid-sentence. It was so much fun! She really is such a sweetheart with a hearty dose of spunk. What joy she brings to our house, and she assured me several times this week that she will still be little girl, at least until she's 8. We love you Sierra, and happy birthday!
P.S. Mekinleyism: Mekinley was having a hard night a few nights ago, and so by 4 am she ended up in our bed. The next morning she said, "Mom, I have a great idea. We should have another baby!" This, of course, peeked my interest and I asked her why. She replied, "Because then the new baby could sleep in Myles' crib, Myles could sleep in by bed with Sierra, and I could sleep with you every night!"
Because of all of our focus on the potty with Sierra, for Sierra, everything revolves around that. I was driving with the girls the other day and Sierra asked, "Does Jesus go potty in the toilet?" Before I could answer, all-knowing Mekinley stepped in. In her most adult voice she said, "I'm sure he does...But then again...I don't know if there's bathrooms up there. I've never been to heaven so I'm not sure." Sierra has since asked me that question several times.
